Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end architecture and design of a distributed real-time streaming engine.
- Design for 100k+ events per second, sub-second latency, and 5–6 nines of availability across global clusters.
- Optimize JVM applications, memory management, and network I/O for ultra-low latency and high concurrency.
- Integrate AI/ML models into streaming paths for predictive scaling, intelligent load balancing, and system automation.
- Solve distributed consistency, exactly-once processing, and backpressure challenges.
- Collaborate with domain teams to migrate legacy batch processes to real-time streaming architectures.
- Provide technical leadership and influence architectural decisions across teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or a closely related field.
- At least 6 years of backend software development experience.
- Expert-level experience with Cassandra, TiDB, or DynamoDB.
- Expert-level proficiency in Java and the Spring Framework.
- Experience building and maintaining highly available distributed systems in AWS cloud environments.
- Experience with high-volume messaging systems such as Kafka or SQS.
- Preferred: 10+ years of professional software development experience building global-scale backend infrastructure.
- Preferred: experience optimizing JVM applications for ultra-low latency and high concurrency.
- Preferred: experience or architectural expertise applying AI/ML to system-level functionality such as real-time anomaly detection.
- Preferred: deep knowledge of CAP theorem, consensus algorithms, and fault-tolerant distributed systems.
- Preferred: expertise in distributed tracing and advanced telemetry for streaming-pipeline observability.
