Base Salary
$115k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and launch new AI-focused engineering capabilities and modules.
- Own engineering initiatives end to end from solutioning and architecture through implementation and launch.
- Write production code and remain deeply hands-on with software development.
- Build solutions using Python and distributed-systems engineering principles.
- Participate in system design, architecture, and technical solutioning discussions.
- Collaborate with the Google Gemini team and other external technology partners to extend NextIQ capabilities.
- Partner with Nextiva product and engineering teams, including teams supporting NextOS, on new initiatives.
- Translate ambiguous early-stage technical problems into practical engineering solutions and take accountability for successful launches.
Requirements
- 7–10+ years of relevant software engineering experience with strong hands-on production software experience.
- Very strong hands-on Python engineering skills.
- Strong system design capabilities and experience designing and building distributed systems.
- Demonstrated experience owning and launching software modules or capabilities end to end.
- Experience taking technical initiatives from solutioning and design through development and launch.
- Ability and willingness to remain hands-on with coding at Staff Engineer level.
- Experience contributing to architecture and technical solutioning discussions.
- Ability to work through evolving requirements and technical approaches.
- Ability to collaborate with internal engineering teams and external technology partners.
- Experience as a Staff Engineer or at a comparable level is preferred.
- Experience building products, modules, or technical capabilities from the ground up is preferred.
- Experience combining system-level design with significant hands-on implementation is preferred.
- Experience working across distributed engineering teams is preferred.
- Ability to work remotely within a time zone reasonably aligned with the Arizona-based team.
- Ability to use AI-assisted engineering tools with appropriate validation, testing, and technical review is expected.

- Expected hiring range is $115,000–$200,000.
- Remote work is available across the United States; employees within 40 miles of the Scottsdale headquarters are expected onsite four days per week.
