Responsibilities
- Lead Android AOSP efforts to build a strong and flexible foundation for Adyen’s Android payments application.
- Collaborate with product management, software engineering, and hardware engineering teams to improve the payment experience.
- Work with system-on-chip and terminal vendors to secure high-performing components.
- Use current Android OS technologies and frameworks to ensure software quality.
- Coach team members and help develop the team’s technical skill set.
- Modify AOSP for domain-specific features and implement and integrate HAL interfaces and wrappers.
- Debug issues in the Android Framework and Linux Kernel.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience working with the Android OS.
- In-depth understanding of Android OS internals from secure boot and the Linux Kernel through Java Framework integration.
- Proficiency in C and C; Java and/or Kotlin knowledge is a plus.
- Experience with Git, Repo, Gerrit, GitHub, adb, and fastboot.
- Experience navigating multi-party development lifecycles and using Google communication channels such as mailing lists and Android Security Bulletins.
- Experience with VTS, CTS, and STS compliance tools.
- Experience modifying AOSP for domain-specific features.
- Expertise implementing and integrating HIDL/AIDL interfaces and wrappers between hardware functionality and the Android Framework.
- Experience debugging Android Framework and Linux Kernel issues.
