Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and drive the transition to the company’s data platform.
- Develop custom data-platform tooling for monitoring, data checks, connectors, cost control, testing, CI/CD, and cataloging.
- Maintain and optimize the company’s largest and most fundamental ELT pipelines.
- Own critical reports used for executive board decisions and as foundations for data teams in other departments.
- Improve the efficiency and reliability of data teams through platform engineering and operational ownership.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in data engineering or software engineering, particularly with high-volume, business-critical pipelines.
- Experience building and maintaining modern data platforms, ideally with Dagster, dbt, BigQuery, and AWS ECS or equivalent tools.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including testing, best practices, and design patterns, applied to data engineering.
- Expert-level SQL and Python skills.
- Knowledge of infrastructure setups including Docker, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
- Pragmatic judgment about when to implement best practices versus when to ship a practical solution.
- Effective, concise communication with diverse stakeholders and fluency in English.
