Microcontrollers System Engineering Intern - Summer 2027
NXP SemiconductorsResponsibilities
- Develop applications, demonstrations, and drivers through porting or new development.
- Create firmware, proofs of concept, innovative functions, and use-case demonstrators for security and connectivity applications.
- Conduct technical feasibility studies and build reference designs.
- Write application notes, white papers, developer guides, and user documentation.
- Review reference manuals and data sheets and contribute to product ease-of-use.
- Manage a project from conception through planning, execution, final product, and presentation to leadership.
- Collaborate with designers, software developers, engineers, and lab technicians across global teams.
Requirements
- Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Must be proficient in the C language.
- Must be returning to school or graduating at the conclusion of the summer internship term; candidates graduating before July 2027 should apply to entry-level full-time roles instead.
- Preferred experience includes embedded systems-on-chip, ARM Cortex architecture, embedded software development and debugging, operating systems, device drivers, and connectivity stacks such as 802.15.4, BLE, Thread, and Zigbee.
- Technical writing experience for application notes, white papers, user guides, or reference manuals is preferred.
