Base Salary
$172k - $232k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture, design, hands-on development, analysis, and maintenance of Boeing Translation Engine software systems.
- Transform high-volume binary sensor data, including ARINC 429, ARINC 717, and ARINC 767, into actionable engineering intelligence.
- Implement CRC, checksum, parity, and built-in test status integrity checks.
- Translate complex requirements into scalable, high-performance analytics pipelines for time-series datasets.
- Architect storage solutions using Apache Parquet, Apache ORC, HDF5, and Delta Lake.
- Provide technical leadership for production-ready sensor-data calibration and synchronization systems.
- Evaluate emerging data-processing technologies and move successful experiments into production codebases.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, design walkthroughs, and technical coaching.
- Lead projects from initiation through delivery and author the majority of implementation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- At least 9 years of software development experience using Java, C++, or Python.
- At least 2 years of experience working with or interpreting engineering data or engineering drawings.
- At least 2 years of experience performing quantitative or statistical analysis, data collection, preparation, and interpretation.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship under U.S. Government rules.
- Preferred qualifications include large-scale distributed software development, cloud service deployment, ARINC 429/717/767 expertise, Apache Parquet/ORC/HDF5/Delta Lake experience, software intellectual-property ownership, and expertise in sensor physics and aircraft dynamics.
- Preferred level qualifications include a relevant bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of related experience, a bachelor’s degree with 13+ years of directly related experience, or 17+ years of related relevant experience.
