Responsibilities
- Lead resolution of critical production issues by coordinating major incident calls, engaging technical teams, and driving root-cause analysis to closure.
- Troubleshoot and debug application and system components across on-premise, cloud, mainframe, and hybrid environments.
- Review application designs and recommend improvements to performance, resiliency, operational readiness, and supportability.
- Monitor distributed, cloud, and mainframe environments and create, enhance, and maintain observability dashboards.
- Execute disaster recovery, loss-of-region, and business continuity procedures while documenting required evidence.
- Support audits by preparing accurate documentation and validating responses to requests for information.
- Plan and execute application certificate creation and renewals.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, clients, and cross-functional teams to resolve issues and ensure applications are supportable.
- Maintain knowledge articles and runbooks and implement automation to reduce manual support and monitoring effort.
- Review team analyses, resolve application alerts and production defects, assess business impact, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- Experience with ITIL change, incident, and problem management processes.
- Mainframe troubleshooting and support experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, DB2 Stored Procedures, CICS, SPUFI, and File-Aid.
- Experience with mainframe scheduling, job abends, and predecessor/successor relationships.
- Hands-on experience with mainframe, Unix, Linux, Windows, SQL, and PL/SQL.
- Familiarity with relational databases including DB2, Oracle, and Snowflake.
- Experience with monitoring and data tools including Splunk, Dynatrace, ThousandEyes, Grafana, Selenium, HiPAM, and IBM Zolda.
- Experience with distributed messaging and Kafka data streaming.
- Experience with AWS services, Azure, OpenShift, RDS Aurora, and PostgreSQL.
- Experience with CA AutoSys and Control-M scheduling tools.
- Understanding of cybersecurity practices including access controls, password management, and malware detection.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to translate project and operational requirements into technical specifications and understand the full application lifecycle.
