Base Salary
$206k - $303k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and evolution of encryption and key lifecycle management products.
- Manage encryption and cryptography technology development for high security services.
- Design and build integrations between the Cloud Platform and external key sources.
- Collaborate with product engineering teams on multicloud key management technology.
- Define unified authorization patterns and policy models for key management APIs.
- Establish SLIs/SLOs for Remote Key Encryption and related services.
- Partner with Security Engineering on threat modeling and corporate strategy.
- Author and review technical designs and mentor other engineers.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in building and operating distributed backend systems.
- Deep experience with encryption at rest and key management systems.
- Hands-on experience with major KMS or secrets managers.
- Strong proficiency in Go or Rust, with experience in networked services.
- Solid understanding of applied cryptography concepts for data-at-rest protection.
- Experience designing multi-tenant services with strong isolation semantics.
- Demonstrated track record of leading cross-team technical initiatives.
- Strong operational experience with SLIs/SLOs and incident response.
