Base Salary

$206k - $303k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and evolution of encryption and key lifecycle management products.
  • Manage encryption and cryptography technology development for high security services.
  • Design and build integrations between the Cloud Platform and external key sources.
  • Collaborate with product engineering teams on multicloud key management technology.
  • Define unified authorization patterns and policy models for key management APIs.
  • Establish SLIs/SLOs for Remote Key Encryption and related services.
  • Partner with Security Engineering on threat modeling and corporate strategy.
  • Author and review technical designs and mentor other engineers.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in building and operating distributed backend systems.
  • Deep experience with encryption at rest and key management systems.
  • Hands-on experience with major KMS or secrets managers.
  • Strong proficiency in Go or Rust, with experience in networked services.
  • Solid understanding of applied cryptography concepts for data-at-rest protection.
  • Experience designing multi-tenant services with strong isolation semantics.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading cross-team technical initiatives.
  • Strong operational experience with SLIs/SLOs and incident response.
