Responsibilities
- Build and run multi-tenant SaaS applications using cloud-native architecture.
- Implement complex, high-throughput backend services and distributed systems across cloud, on-premise, and edge layers.
- Write scalable, maintainable code and help maintain high engineering standards.
- Own features end to end, including technical design, backend coding, automated deployment, and production monitoring.
- Collaborate with engineers across Motorola Solutions and D-Fend to resolve technical challenges and deliver quickly.
- Occasionally contribute to React-based frontend work to deliver complete features.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience.
- Expertise with Node.js and TypeScript, including NestJS or Express.
- Strong experience building event-driven microservices with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with cloud observability patterns including metrics, distributed tracing, and structured logging.
- Proficiency with PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with or willingness to work with React.
- Preferred experience with Terraform, AWS CDK, or Serverless Framework.
- Preferred experience using GitHub Copilot, Claude, or Cursor for development assistance.
- Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture and mTLS is advantageous.
- Preferred experience with time-series telemetry pipelines, long-term storage tiering, and Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Datadog.
