Base Salary
$79k - $166k/yr
Responsibilities
- Implement, test, debug, and maintain secure Root of Trust firmware and companion software for hardware devices.
- Develop Java and Python tools, libraries, and integration layers for provisioning, firmware updates, validation, diagnostics, automation, and service workflows.
- Contribute to control-plane client-adjacent workflows, REST API interactions, service integration, and client-side validation logic.
- Analyze existing code and tests, identify defects, and improve reliability, maintainability, and security.
- Collaborate with firmware developers, hardware engineers, security reviewers, service owners, manufacturing partners, and lab teams.
- Use source control, CI/CD systems, lab equipment, and test automation to validate changes and communicate findings.
Requirements
- A master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; or a bachelor's degree with approximately 2+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent practical experience.
- Coursework, internship, research, or professional experience in embedded systems, systems software, firmware, or hardware-adjacent software development.
- Programming experience in C or C++ and strong programming ability in Java and/or Python.
- Familiarity with Linux development environments, scripting, debugging, and source control workflows.
- Ability to learn new codebases, diagnose technical issues, and collaborate across firmware, hardware, and cloud service teams.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with client libraries, service SDKs, Python libraries, command-line tools, REST APIs, test automation, service integration, embedded communication protocols, platform security, lab debug tools, automated testing, build systems, or DevOps practices.
