Responsibilities
- Build and modernize backend services, APIs, business logic, data models, and React-based user interfaces.
- Own features and services from requirements through development, testing, deployment, observability, maintenance, and production support.
- Write automated tests, participate in code reviews, and maintain software quality and architectural standards.
- Implement logging, monitoring, metrics, and alerting for production services and troubleshoot production issues during on-call rotations.
- Use AI-assisted development tools for code generation, specification-to-code implementation, automated test creation, and other software development activities.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and engineering teams to refine requirements and technical specifications.
- Contribute to shared engineering standards, developer tooling, software lifecycle improvements, and technical direction.
- Document technical decisions and architecture and mentor less experienced engineers.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience with the ability to work independently and drive technical decisions.
- Strong backend development experience with C#/.NET, Go, Python, or Java, with C#/.NET as the primary technology.
- Strong experience with React or another modern frontend framework and full-stack development across backend, frontend, and database layers.
- Strong knowledge of MS SQL Server or PostgreSQL and relational database concepts.
- Strong knowledge and experience with REST APIs and microservices.
- Hands-on experience using Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor to deliver production software.
- Experience owning software features end to end, including requirements, development, testing, deployment, observability, and production support.
- Understanding of software design principles, automated testing, code review, and CI/CD practices.
- Strong production troubleshooting, problem-solving, collaboration, and technical communication skills.
