Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and maintain a delivery framework for websites.
- Develop reusable code, libraries, themes, plugins, custom Gutenberg blocks, and user-facing features.
- Customize WordPress and integrate third-party APIs, REST APIs, AJAX, and GraphQL.
- Analyze and optimize page load times, application performance, and scalability.
- Support current client websites and migrate websites into WordPress.
- Document plugins, code, themes, and modifications.
- Collaborate with developers, project managers, designers, stakeholders, and client teams.
- Deliver functional, testable code by required deadlines and contribute to scope-of-build discussions.
- Grow individual and team expertise through training, exploration, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Demonstrable proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, Sass, JavaScript, jQuery, React, CSS Grid, and Flexbox.
- Proficient understanding of ES6+ and asynchronous request handling.
- Strong understanding of WordPress APIs, theme hierarchy, accessibility, and custom Gutenberg block development.
- Experience with npm task runners such as Webpack and front-end testing and tooling.
- Understanding of partial page updates, REST APIs, AJAX, and GraphQL.
- Demonstrable proficiency with Google Tag Manager.
- Proficiency with Git and modern team and project management tools such as Jira and Slack.
- Strong documentation, written communication, collaboration, and internal customer service skills.
- Experience migrating websites into WordPress is strongly desired.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a security clearance.
- Vue.js experience is preferred.
