Responsibilities
- Provide first-line engineering support for live trading environments and prepare platforms for the trading day.
- Investigate incidents across application, operating-system, network, and database layers using logs, metrics, traces, and code.
- Assess trading impact, safely mitigate issues, restore service, and coordinate with developers and infrastructure specialists.
- Build and maintain automation, monitoring, and operational tools to improve reliability and reduce manual work.
- Configure, deploy, verify, and roll back proprietary trading applications using controlled release procedures.
- Improve deployment, recovery, configuration, capacity, observability, and resilience practices.
- Coordinate regional handoffs, escalations, and communications across the global follow-the-sun operating model.
- Analyze recurring incidents, identify root causes and trends, and drive corrective actions to completion.
- Create runbooks and recovery procedures and share operational knowledge across regional teams.
Requirements
- At least two years of experience in production engineering, site reliability engineering, application support, software development, or another role supporting business-critical systems.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to read Python code and write maintainable automation in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or a comparable language.
- Experience with source control, testing, peer review, and controlled software releases.
- Hands-on experience with Linux or Windows.
- Understanding of distributed systems, networking fundamentals, TCP/IP, DNS, service dependencies, messaging patterns, and common failure modes.
- Working knowledge of SQL and database concepts and fundamentals.
- Exposure to logging, metrics, monitoring, and alerting platforms such as ELK stack, Checkmk, Nagios, or Splunk.
- Willingness to work shifts, participate in on-call responsibilities, and travel to the US.
