Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Lead embedded system architecture and technical efforts across the product lifecycle.
- Architect, implement, and test embedded firmware and software on FPGAs, microcontrollers, microprocessors, and mixed-signal platforms.
- Support concept development, detailed design, manufacturing, qualification testing, and post-delivery support.
- Develop communication data-link, digital signal processing, and system designs as applicable.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers, project managers, technicians, customers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Troubleshoot board-level issues, assess failures for root cause, and identify corrective actions.
- Support technical trade studies and evaluation of technology improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution.
- At least 0+ years of experience in embedded system design.
- Understanding of trade-offs among FPGA, SoC, microcontroller, RTOS, and bare-metal embedded targets.
- Experience with C, C++, assembly, VHDL, or Verilog.
- Experience with UART, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, CAN bus, or similar communication protocols.
- Hands-on laboratory experience with instrumentation, test equipment, and debugging or testing methods.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Resident of or willing to relocate to the Huntsville/North Alabama, Alabama area.
- U.S. citizenship and a Final Secret Clearance, or eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- Preferred qualifications include Xilinx FPGA and SoC development, Xilinx IP Cores, AXI4, AXI-Stream, firmware verification, HWIL, ARM Cortex, Microblaze, PowerPC, RISC-V, memory architectures, GNU/Linux, kernel drivers, Linux, VxWorks, Integrity, FreeRTOS, uC/OS-II, electronics and PCBA design, and high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, Aurora, 100GbE, and JESD204B.
