Base Salary
$70k - $126k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust C/C++ embedded software under the oversight of senior software developers.
- Develop and maintain software frameworks, analysis tools, simulations, mission-planning software, and mission-critical system components.
- Field, support, maintain, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in software products.
- Create and execute unit and integration tests for software components.
- Use GitLab software pipelines for configuration management, continuous integration, and automated testing.
- Participate in code reviews and agile team tasking and progress reporting.
- Communicate frequently with customers, end users, and team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in software engineering, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, mathematics, or an equivalent technical field, with a GPA of at least 3.0.
- 2–4 years of relevant technical experience with a BS degree or 0–2 years with an MS degree.
- Demonstrated software development competency in C, C++, Java, C#, Rust, or Python.
- Experience writing unit and integration tests with unit test frameworks.
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows development tools, scripts, debuggers, and administrative features.
- Familiarity with Agile tools such as GitLab Ultimate, Atlassian Jira, Trello, or Monday.com.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication, analytical, process improvement, software quality, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Must reside in North Alabama or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville-North Alabama area.
- Must possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
- Preferred experience with IEEE 12207, CMMI, DO-178C, DO-278, or RMF standards, and interest or experience using AI tools for software development.
