Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design and develop embedded airborne system software, including software architecture, implementation, peer reviews, and unit testing.
- Own software module integration within subsystems and contribute to cross-subsystem integration.
- Develop, test, troubleshoot, debug, and maintain embedded software systems and supporting tools and harnesses.
- Apply software engineering practices across requirements analysis, hardware compatibility analysis, development, integration, and system maintenance.
- Use DevOps and CI/CD pipelines and improve development workflows, tools, and engineering practices.
- Recommend technologies, tools, and standards and collaborate with senior engineers on technical strategy.
- Coach and mentor junior team members and review their technical work.
- Communicate frequently with internal stakeholders and integrated engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, aeronautical engineering, mathematics, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- 4+ years of relevant technical experience, or 2+ years with a related master’s degree.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance.
- Relevant experience developing, integrating, testing, or troubleshooting embedded software or embedded-adjacent applications that interface with embedded systems.
- Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems development.
- Experience with RTOS platforms such as VxWorks, Integrity, or FreeRTOS.
- Proficiency with embedded processors and microcontrollers such as ARM Cortex or RISC-V.
- Experience with embedded debugging tools such as JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, or GDB.
- Experience with software development practices including Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and test automation.
- Residence in North Alabama or willingness to relocate to the Huntsville-North Alabama area.
- Preferred qualifications include real-time embedded systems experience in defense, aerospace, or safety-critical platforms; guided weapons or flight controls experience; and large-scale deterministic embedded systems experience.
- Preferred qualifications include Docker or Kubernetes, Model-Based Systems Engineering, DO-178C, MIL-STD-882e, Jira, Git, and GitLab experience.
