Base Salary
$171k - $231k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain performance analysis features and tools across Arm solutions.
- Own software components from technical design and implementation through testing, integration, and release.
- Investigate software behavior across applications, distributed systems, operating systems, virtual machines, containers, storage, and networking.
- Analyze and optimize workload and system performance through profiling, tracing, benchmarking, optimization, and experimentation.
- Translate product requirements and customer feedback into practical engineering solutions.
- Demonstrate performance tooling to customers and travel for on-site collaboration when needed.
- Participate in design and code reviews, explain technical tradeoffs, and share knowledge.
Requirements
- More than seven years of hands-on software engineering experience delivering reliable software and resolving complex technical problems.
- Strong software development experience across multiple programming languages, frameworks, and technology stacks.
- Broad systems experience spanning applications, distributed systems, operating systems, virtualization, storage, and networking.
- Experience building tools, diagnostics, or automation with maintainable code and automated tests.
- Significant experience with performance analysis, profiling, benchmarking, optimization, and root-cause analysis.
- Ability to turn requirements into technical designs, evaluate tradeoffs, and collaborate through implementation and code review.
- Understanding of cloud platforms, Linux systems, and modern CPU architectures.
- Preferred experience with performance, observability, profiling, benchmarking, or optimization tools such as perf, Intel VTune, AMD uProf, NVIDIA profiling tools, or Linux tracing technologies.
- Preferred experience with Arm architecture, Arm-based cloud infrastructure, processor architecture, memory hierarchy, cache behavior, NUMA, concurrency, cloud-native systems, distributed systems, Kubernetes, major cloud platforms, developer-facing products, SDKs, engineering productivity tooling, or AI-assisted development tools.

- Annual base salary range of $170,900-$231,200.
- Hybrid working arrangements determined by the team, with role-specific details provided during the application process.
- Austin, Texas work location; the role does not include a relocation package.
