Responsibilities
- Design, build, scale, and operate ByteDance’s global infrastructure across public and private clouds.
- Develop tools, automation frameworks, visualizations, and monitoring systems to improve infrastructure operations and optimization.
- Create, manage, and standardize cloud AMIs and images across multiple environments in alignment with compliance standards.
- Participate in on-call rotations and resolve incidents involving cloud systems, operating systems, networks, performance, and reliability.
- Drive infrastructure improvements from design and development through deployment, support, and continuous refinement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Security, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in Linux operations, SRE, or DevOps.
- Proficiency in at least one of Go, Python, or C++, with engineering experience in platform development, system tooling, and automation.
- Deep understanding of Linux, computer networks, storage systems, GPU systems, databases, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
- Familiarity with monitoring and alerting, capacity management, change management, canary or gray releases, incident response, and postmortems.
- Preferred experience with OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP and large-scale cloud host delivery, image systems, scheduling, networking, and virtualization.
- Preferred experience with Docker, Kubernetes, containerd, cgroups, namespaces, GPU clusters, CUDA, MIG, and production reliability initiatives.
- Open-source contributions, technical blogs, patents, technical sharing, and large-scale production operations experience are preferred.
