Base Salary
$201k - $272k/yr
Responsibilities
- Partner with Product to shape roadmap requirements and recommend appropriate technologies and design patterns.
- Review team architecture and code for quality, scalability, and security while empowering teams to own implementation and delivery.
- Troubleshoot escalated performance and scalability issues, identify root causes, guide solutions, and drive them through resolution.
- Own and deliver cross-team initiatives such as introducing frameworks, improving developer experience, and migrating shared functionality.
- Mentor engineers across teams through guilds, office hours, and informal coaching.
- Work with Product and Engineering leadership to shape the technical roadmap and drive reliable, secure systems.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience as a software engineer building and maintaining production systems.
- At least 3 years of production experience with Node.js or React and at least 1 year of experience with NestJS preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong experience with OAuth, SCIM, OIDC, RBAC, and authentication and authorization systems from large third-party providers.
- Strong proficiency with JavaScript, TypeScript, object-oriented programming, RESTful web services, networking protocols, relational databases, testing, logging and telemetry, Git, and modern software delivery practices.
- Experience with at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, or infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.
- Experience with TypeORM, Jest, Redis, and Elasticsearch is a plus.
- Experience leading engineers through feature delivery, owning major products or features, building and scaling web applications, communicating architectural decisions, mentoring teammates, and introducing new technologies thoughtfully.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools and product development methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, or Lean is a plus.
