Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend and full-stack features using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and databases.
- Modernize legacy and monolithic Java applications into modern, modular, cloud-ready architectures.
- Build backend services, RESTful APIs, data models, integration logic, and microservices-based solutions.
- Support Angular and React frontend teams with robust backend APIs.
- Implement high-performance data processing and integration logic for analytical workflows.
- Apply object-oriented design principles, design patterns, layered or hexagonal architecture, and clean coding practices.
- Perform technical trade-off analysis and contribute to application and solution architecture discussions.
- Ensure code quality through unit testing, mocking frameworks, static analysis, and automated testing.
- Perform performance profiling, memory analysis, JVM tuning, and production stability improvements.
- Collaborate with QA, DevOps, product, architecture, and global development teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum delivery activities including planning, reviews, retrospectives, and continuous integration and deployment.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers.
Requirements
- MCA or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 6–8 years of hands-on experience in Java-based software development on global or enterprise projects.
- Strong experience with software design patterns, layered architectures, performance optimization, object-oriented design, and clean coding practices.
- Hands-on experience with unit testing and mocking frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
- Knowledge of performance profiling, memory analysis, JVM tuning, microservices, service communication, integration patterns, Hibernate or JPA, and transaction management.
- Experience with API-based, file-based, and message-based integrations; Azure Service Bus or similar experience is relevant.
- Familiarity with Azure cloud-native development, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, cloud platforms, and Maven or Gradle.
- Experience in product development environments and understanding of product development lifecycle and Lean Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Exposure to event-driven or message-based systems, shipping or logistics workflows, scientific data processing, genomics, or laboratory systems is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, and a continuous improvement mindset.
