Base Salary
$190k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect the incrementality product as a scalable experimentation platform and own its key technical decisions.
- Set the direction for near-real-time data ingestion and processing beyond batch workflows.
- Define patterns for AI-powered workflows that help marketers evaluate performance and act on insights.
- Lead connection-state systems and partner integrations across data ingestion and exports.
- Shape technical approaches for adjacent product areas such as role-based access control.
- Partner with product managers, designers, and data scientists to define products and technical direction.
- Conduct design reviews, mentor engineers, and improve the team’s engineering practices and standards.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience designing and building distributed backend systems, microservices, APIs, and/or data processing systems in Python.
- Deep experience owning system architecture and making tradeoffs that emerge at scale.
- Track record of shaping product direction in partnership with product managers, designers, and data scientists.
- Startup experience or experience working with broad ownership, ambiguity, and complex problem-solving.
- Ability to turn ambiguous product needs into sound architecture and production-ready solutions across multiple problem spaces.
- Ability to navigate complex datasets and interconnected tables to investigate issues and trace dependencies.
- Working frontend experience with React and TypeScript; deep frontend specialization is not required.
- Strong coding fundamentals and experience using AI as an accelerator rather than a substitute for core capabilities.
- Willingness to work across backend, frontend, pipelines, and infrastructure as needed.
- Experience mentoring engineers and improving how a team operates.
- Data-intensive backend engineering experience combined with shipped frontend work is a bonus.
