Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, implement, support, and maintain Corepoint interfaces connecting HIS, EHR, LIMS, LIS, and other healthcare systems.
- Manage multiple concurrent interface projects, complete projects within expected timelines, and support Corepoint environment tickets.
- Define requirements and technical specifications with clinical laboratory staff, hospital IT teams, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Implement HL7, JSON, XML, CDA, networking, file transfer, web service, API, authentication, and secure transport integrations.
- Troubleshoot, debug, optimize, and resolve interface and production issues, including root-cause analysis and fixes under SLA requirements.
- Perform data mapping, transformation, interface validation, error analysis, regression testing, and quality assurance.
- Monitor system performance and ensure reliable, accurate, secure, and compliant patient-data exchange.
- Participate in system upgrades, migrations, version management, performance tuning, documentation, and ongoing development.
- Communicate project status, technical issues, proposed solutions, and expectations to management, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Provide on-call support and work with clinical, project management, quality, vendor, and IT teams.
Requirements
- Three to five years of minimum experience, with more preferred, designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining healthcare interfaces using Corepoint Interface Engine; the posting also states ten years of healthcare IT interface development experience.
- Extensive experience developing and maintaining Corepoint Integration Engine interfaces, including troubleshooting, debugging, optimization, support, upgrades, version management, and performance tuning.
- Strong knowledge of HL7 messaging, including ADT, ORM, ORU, DFT, message segmentation, data types, and message flows.
- Experience with JSON, XML, CDA, TCP/IP, VPN, SFTP, FTPS, HTTP/S web services, REST, SOAP, APIs, certificate authentication, secure transport, and authentication methods.
- Experience mapping and transforming data among source systems, laboratory LIS/LIMS, EHRs, HIS systems, and other target systems.
- Experience with software development lifecycle principles, version control, system integration design, data-flow architecture, scalable solutions, testing, and regression validation.
- Ability to translate functional and clinical requirements into interface specifications and complete technical designs.
- Knowledge of clinical workflows, laboratory system requirements, laboratory orders and results handling in the United States clinical environment, and EHR platforms such as Epic, Cerner, and Meditech.
- Understanding of HIPAA and healthcare data compliance, privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong project planning, leadership, negotiation, organization, documentation, communication, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or equivalent real-world experience.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, communicate clearly in English, adapt to changing needs, and participate in on-call support.
