Base Salary
$200k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and scale backend services and APIs for AI-powered features, primarily using Python.
- Design and implement complex hierarchical multi-agent systems for sophisticated multi-step tasks.
- Create frameworks for evaluating AI system quality and manage fine-tuning pipelines.
- Define, deploy, and manage AI infrastructure with Terraform, including container-based serverless solutions.
- Evaluate tradeoffs among model performance, latency, and cost when using managed AI services.
- Occasionally use TypeScript and Node.js to integrate AI features into the main application.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers and product designers to develop AI tools and experimental features.
Requirements
- 3–6+ years of backend or full-stack engineering experience shipping high-quality, scalable systems in fast-paced environments.
- Deep expertise in Python and its ecosystem for web services and data processing.
- Strong experience with Terraform, a major cloud platform such as GCP, AWS, or Azure, and deploying containerized applications.
- Experience or familiarity with managed AI services, LLMs, advanced AI systems, model evaluation frameworks, fine-tuning, open-source agentic frameworks, MLOps, or data engineering is beneficial but not required.
- Ability to work in a lean, fast-paced R&D environment and help shape 0-to-1 AI-native products.
