Base Salary
$131k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own navigation features end to end from design through production rollout, including quality, adoption, and customer impact follow-up.
- Design and ship customer-facing features across mobile, backend services, and web for driver navigation, fleet visibility, routing, and safety.
- Write maintainable, well-tested code and improve observability, testing, and production reliability.
- Clarify ambiguous problems, gather input from fleet managers and drivers, define success metrics, plan milestones, and manage tradeoffs.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and Maps, Telematics, and adjacent teams.
- Use AI development tools thoughtfully in daily engineering work and model Samsara’s cultural principles.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- 6+ years of professional experience.
- Proven experience shipping customer-facing production software across multiple surfaces such as mobile, web, and backend services, with depth in at least one.
- Comfort using AI development tools with sound judgment.
- Preferred: experience building mobile applications with React Native, Swift, or Kotlin.
- Preferred: long-term ownership of features maintained and shipped over several years.
- Preferred: logistics or industrial IoT domain expertise, experience building apps for drivers or field workers, or familiarity with geospatial and mapping technologies.
