Responsibilities
- Improve code structure, contribute to architecture, and review code produced by the team.
- Simplify maintenance and operation of production systems and improve system visibility, operational readiness, and health.
- Lead technical execution and build relationships with other engineering teams to identify collaboration opportunities.
- Own larger pieces of work, assist with design and technical implementation choices, and influence the team roadmap.
- Participate in hiring and conduct engineering interviews.
- Support colleagues’ personal growth through mentoring and encouragement of efficiency.
Requirements
- Graduated within the last year.
- Authorized to work in the U.K.
- Experience writing web-based applications in any language and interest in learning Go, Ruby/Rails, Python, Scala, or Rust.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.
- Experience with web architecture at scale, including 20krpm and above.
- Experience with NoSQL data backends such as Redis, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch, and Memcache.
- Experience solving logistical problems with software.
- Pride in readable, well-designed, well-tested software.
