Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable platform frameworks, developer tooling, and quality engineering solutions.
- Coordinate engineers and determine technical tasks for projects or systems.
- Build and improve distributed platform services, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, internal developer platforms, and observability solutions.
- Collaborate with management to establish engineering rigor, platform standards, and reliability practices.
- Represent PayPal with partners, customers, and industry organizations while influencing technical decisions across teams.
Requirements
- Requires 5+ years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred qualifications include a BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent and 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in platform or infrastructure engineering.
- Experience designing large-scale distributed platform services with high availability and reliability is preferred.
- Requires deep knowledge of quality engineering, automated testing frameworks, test pyramid design, and CI/CD pipeline architecture.
- Experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Java, Python, Go, Docker, Kubernetes, GCP, AWS, Azure, or internal developer platforms is preferred.
- Experience with observability, chaos engineering, AI/ML platform engineering, MLOps tooling, developer experience initiatives, and financial-sector compliance standards is preferred.
- Requires strong communication skills and the ability to influence technical decisions and articulate platform strategy.
