Base Salary

$173k - $307k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own the architecture and roadmap for major ML compute and inference platform components.
  • Design and operate distributed training and inference systems across large multi-node and multi-region clusters.
  • Improve multi-tenancy, elasticity, GPU utilization, performance, reliability, and cost efficiency across shared infrastructure.
  • Build model packaging, registry, deployment, and safe rollout workflows that move models from experimentation to production.
  • Set engineering standards for reliability, observability, and performance.
  • Partner with ML researchers and product teams to develop platform capabilities and inform capacity and hardware strategy.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship across the platform organization.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience building and operating large-scale platform, infrastructure, or distributed systems in production.
  • Deep expertise in distributed systems and cloud infrastructure, including Kubernetes, containerized workloads, and large multi-node and multi-region clusters.
  • Strong Python programming ability and proficiency in at least one systems language: Go, C++, Rust, or Java.
  • Experience designing, architecting, and operating scalable systems that other engineers build on.
  • Ability to make architectural tradeoffs and drive measurable improvements in latency, throughput, utilization, and reliability.
  • Preferred experience with GPU or accelerator scheduling, performance tuning, or fleet management.
  • Preferred familiarity with ML framework internals, distributed training, or modern inference stacks.
  • Preferred experience operating ML or data infrastructure at the scale of a major ML-driven product organization.

Benefits

  • The U.S. annual base pay range is $172,500 to $306,625, varying by work location, skills, knowledge, and experience.
  • California annual base pay range is $211,800 to $306,625.
  • Eligible roles may receive Annual Incentive Plan participation and, in some cases, long-term new-hire equity awards.
