Base Salary
$174k - $252k/yr
Responsibilities
- Learn new technical domains and use Google ’s software stack and AI-assisted research to propose and implement technical solutions.
- Build scalable AI-powered solutions across Google and assist teams with complex technical challenges.
- Identify high-impact problem spaces and contribute proposals that maximize organizational impact.
- Improve production systems through gains in compute, storage, latency, code quality, and testing speed.
- Guide junior engineers and lead focused strike teams by setting technical direction and supporting team growth and outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages such as C++, Go, or Java.
- 3 years of experience with ML infrastructure, including model deployment, model evaluation, optimization, data processing, or debugging.
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining infrastructure.
- Experience designing, developing, and deploying AI models or machine learning algorithms.
- Preferred: Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Preferred: 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Preferred: experience applying AI to software engineering problems, including agentic software development, LLMs, or code generation.
- Preferred: experience improving large-scale, high-performance distributed production systems such as replicated state machines, database systems, networking, or storage.
- Preferred: experience driving significant operational efficiencies and structural software improvements in brown-field systems.
