Responsibilities
- Design scalable onboarding architecture for new markets and customer segments.
- Define technical contracts and integration points between Consumer Onboarding and other Wise teams.
- Build and evolve robust onboarding flows from account creation through a customer’s first successful transfer.
- Lead initiatives improving the maintainability, latency, reliability, and cost efficiency of core onboarding systems.
- Own fundamental components, shared systems, shared libraries, or core infrastructure used across multiple teams.
- Set technical vision, collaborate across teams, and mentor and grow engineers.
Requirements
- Deep, production-proven experience with Java or similar object-oriented programming languages and modern service architectures.
- Strong experience building and scaling distributed, high-throughput systems.
- Experience owning and designing fundamental components, shared libraries, or core infrastructure used across multiple teams.
- Ability to establish technical vision and mentor engineers.
- Track record of building customer-facing products and understanding how technical decisions affect end users.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including explaining complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences and aligning stakeholders.
- Experience working with Frontend or Mobile engineers and design teams is preferred.
- Background in high-growth consumer products or fintech is preferred.
- Experience leading company-wide technical initiatives or working groups is preferred.
