Responsibilities
- Develop low-level software solutions and features for autonomous vehicle sensor suites.
- Implement and debug sensor drivers and communication protocols, including TCP, UDP, and RTS.
- Manage hardware/software integration, vehicle parametrization, and comprehensive in-vehicle testing and debugging.
- Contribute to the architecture and implementation of robust autonomous-systems software.
- Define high-level sensor requirements with cross-functional teams.
- Assist electrical and mechanical engineers with installing and integrating electronic vehicle equipment.
- Document development, implementation, and integration activities.
- Contribute to creating and refining software development processes.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Engineering, Automotive, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of professional Embedded Linux software development experience.
- Proficiency in C, C++, Python, and Shell scripting.
- Strong understanding of microprocessors, microcontrollers, and complex electrical system architectures.
- Expertise in networking and communication systems, including infrastructure and network programming.
- Knowledge of LiDAR, Radar, Camera, and GNSS sensor fundamentals.
- Ideally, experience with time synchronization such as PTP/GPTP, latency, and timestamps.
- Familiarity with ROS, Docker, and DevContainers.
- Practical field-testing experience with complex robotics or autonomous-platform systems.
- Knowledge of ISO 26262 or safe design approaches.
- Business-level English; German is an advantage.
- Enthusiasm for autonomous driving and proactive interest in industry developments.
