Responsibilities
- Design and implement motion-planning algorithms that generate safe and efficient vehicle trajectories.
- Optimize trajectories for safety, comfort, and efficiency while balancing real-time constraints.
- Validate motion-planning behavior in simulation and on real-world test data, resolving edge cases.
- Collaborate with perception and software-integration teams to integrate planning outputs into the autonomous-driving stack.
- Ensure algorithms meet defined performance benchmarks and functional-safety requirements for autonomous operation.
Requirements
- Completed degree in computer science, robotics, engineering, applied mathematics, or a comparable field, or equivalent vocational training in a relevant technical discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience in motion planning, robotics, or autonomous-vehicle software.
- Proven experience developing motion-planning or trajectory-generation algorithms for robotics or autonomous vehicles.
- Strong C++ and/or Python skills, with experience using motion-planning frameworks, optimization solvers, ROS/ROS2, and simulation environments.
- Knowledge of optimization techniques, control theory, state estimation, linear algebra, numerical optimization, and real-time or embedded-system constraints.
- Experience validating algorithms with simulation and real-world test data, including edge-case analysis.
- Experience with Git and CI-CD, and an understanding of functional-safety requirements for autonomous systems.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate algorithmic trade-offs clearly; English at C1 level is required and German is a plus.
Benefits
- Flexible working hours accommodating personal and caregiving responsibilities.
- Corporate Benefits discounts across fashion, beauty, travel, and culture.
- Subsidy for public transport tickets.
- Employer-covered further education and training costs.
