Responsibilities
- Gather technical requirements and specifications from clients and internal stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
- Own application quality, performance testing, and production support.
- Translate business rules and stakeholder requirements into project specifications using internal and external systems.
- Lead the design of data ingestion and transformation systems and processes.
- Develop technical and architectural plans, documentation, presentations, and project milestones.
- Communicate project updates with technical stakeholders through demonstrations, calls, and email.
- Run scrums and technical sessions.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Professional experience in a software development role and personal projects demonstrating engineering aptitude and product sense.
- Strong JavaScript and Node.js experience, with strong backend development experience preferred.
- Full-stack development capability and experience starting projects from scratch or working within existing architectures.
- Understanding of service-oriented architecture, database architecture and performance, and asynchronous, object-oriented, and functional programming patterns.
- Experience with AWS services including EC2, ECS, Lambda, SQS, and Kinesis.
- Experience developing and scaling low-latency, high-availability applications and APIs.
- Ability to learn new technologies, work outside a usual area of expertise, multitask, and collaborate cross-functionally.
- React.js experience and familiarity with enterprise server-side languages such as Java, Python, or Ruby are a plus.
