Responsibilities
- Build and execute technical account strategies for acquiring new logos and growing Databricks consumption in existing accounts.
- Conduct consultative discovery with founders, CTOs, engineering and data leaders, architects, and technical practitioners.
- Lead the technical sales motion from discovery through evaluation by defining success criteria, developing architectures, delivering demonstrations, guiding sizing, and running or coordinating proofs of concept.
- Provide technical leadership across data engineering, data warehousing, analytics and BI, machine learning, GenAI, applications, Lakebase, and related cloud-native workloads.
- Connect customer outcomes to the Databricks platform and support architecture and technology decisions.
- Use customer signals such as consumption, user activity, feature adoption, architecture, security, and cost considerations to prioritize engagements.
- Contribute to the startup and technical ecosystem through workshops, office hours, meetups, events, partner activity, and other one-to-many engagements.
- Collaborate with Sales, Product, Engineering, delivery and services teams, Support, and technology partners to address customer needs and accelerate adoption.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in customer-facing pre-sales, technical architecture, consulting, or an equivalent role.
- Experience leading technical discovery and architecture discussions with software engineers, data teams, architects, and senior technical decision-makers.
- Experience designing distributed data systems and cloud-native solutions.
- Hands-on programming experience in at least one of Python, SQL, Scala, or Java.
- Experience building solutions with one or more public-cloud providers, including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Depth in at least one relevant domain such as data engineering, data warehousing, analytics and BI, data science, machine learning, GenAI, streaming, OLTP, or data governance.
- Experience taking ambiguous customer problems through use-case discovery, solution design, evaluation, and a clear technical outcome.
- Strong business communication skills across presentations, whiteboarding, written points of view, and platform demonstrations.
- Ability to work autonomously across multiple accounts, prioritize efforts, and collaborate with Account Executives and account teams.
- Business proficiency in both French and English.
- Preferred: experience with high-growth technology companies, product engineering teams, SaaS businesses, founders, or venture-backed organizations.
- Preferred: experience with Apache Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, or comparable modern data and AI technologies.
- Preferred: familiarity with startup, VC, accelerator, ISV, or cloud-partner ecosystems.
- Preferred: Databricks and cloud certifications.
