Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, debug, and implement prompts, prompt templates, AI workflows, and automation patterns.
- Translate business requirements into AI interaction patterns, prompt strategies, technical specifications, acceptance criteria, and evaluation benchmarks.
- Maintain reusable prompt libraries, evaluation criteria, documentation, user guidance, and training materials.
- Perform prompt testing, regression testing, quality evaluation, and output validation for accuracy, consistency, safety, and business alignment.
- Integrate prompts and AI capabilities into enterprise systems, APIs, workflows, and user experiences with application development teams.
- Evaluate AI model behavior across summarization, classification, content generation, code assistance, data extraction, workflow automation, and knowledge retrieval use cases.
- Apply role prompting, structured output design, few-shot examples, chain-of-thought alternatives, tool-use prompting, retrieval-augmented generation, and guardrail design.
- Support AI governance, data privacy, prompt safety, responsible AI usage, and compliance with enterprise policies.
- Monitor production prompt and workflow performance and recommend improvements based on user feedback, quality metrics, and model behavior.
- Collaborate on version control, release management, testing automation, and continuous improvement of AI solutions.
- Mentor junior team members and lead small project teams or workstreams focused on AI solution design and prompt optimization.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent education and experience.
- At least 6 years of experience in software development, application systems, data solutions, AI implementation, automation, or related technical environments.
- Hands-on experience designing, testing, and improving prompts for large language models or generative AI tools.
- Experience with Java, SQL, Python, JavaScript or TypeScript, or similar programming and scripting languages.
- Experience with APIs, JSON, structured outputs, application integrations, and enterprise software development practices.
- Familiarity with large language models, embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation, vector search, model evaluation, grounding, hallucination reduction, and prompt safety.
- Experience with databases and data platforms such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or Snowflake.
- Experience with GitLab, Jenkins, Windows, Linux, application servers, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with SDLC development methodologies, including Agile.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, written communication, and AI output quality evaluation skills.
- Experience collaborating with business users, QA, developers, architects, product owners, and security or compliance partners.
- Experience mentoring development or technical team members.
- Preferred qualifications include enterprise AI platform experience, prompt evaluation frameworks, automated AI-output testing, model benchmarking, secure enterprise prompt design, responsible AI, data protection, information security, AI governance, knowledge management, search, vector databases, AI assistants, chatbots, agentic workflows, document analysis tools, or developer productivity solutions.
