Responsibilities
- Build and improve Heidi’s localisation platform and workflows for global product scale.
- Develop AI-assisted translation pipelines with automation and human-in-the-loop review.
- Design systems that deliver localised content reliably across web and mobile applications.
- Build tools for linguists and product teams to review, manage, and improve translations.
- Contribute to developer tooling and open-source libraries for localisation and internationalisation workflows.
- Integrate localisation platforms such as Crowdin and Smartling into development and release pipelines.
- Work with JSON, XML, XLIFF, and source control systems.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, design, QA, and linguists to deliver high-quality multilingual experiences.
- Identify and resolve localisation issues across technical pipelines and UI/UX.
Requirements
- 3–10 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Experience working with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or GCP.
- Proficiency in Python or Go and comfort building tools and automation.
- Ability to solve practical problems and debug technical and linguistic issues.
- Clear communication and effective cross-functional collaboration.
- Commitment to product quality and user experiences across languages and regions.
- Experience with localisation platforms such as Crowdin or Smartling is beneficial.
- Familiarity with localisation and internationalisation principles is beneficial.
- Experience or interest in NLP or language-related systems is beneficial.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform is beneficial.
- Experience building internal tools or developer platforms is beneficial.
- Multilingual experience and appreciation for cultural and linguistic differences are beneficial.
