Base Salary
$87k - $165k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build new backend features from scratch through production deployment.
- Build and scale streaming data feeds, databases, queueing systems, compute infrastructure, and analysis engines.
- Extend integrations for customer self-service, subscriptions, billing, and accounting management.
- Ensure customer access is secure and correctly provisioned according to purchased products.
- Develop cloud-native microservices powering websites, mobile apps, data reporting, and other products.
- Write high-quality, well-tested software for major airline and airport customers.
- Mentor junior engineers and become a subject-matter resource in an area of expertise.
Requirements
- Typically requires a STEM degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and at least 3 years of experience.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
- Experience as a software engineer using Go, Rust, C++, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar technologies.
- Understanding of the importance of clear API contracts in software engineering.
- Preferred experience includes AWS, Kubernetes, microservice architectures, service meshes, message or event queues, asynchronous workflows, and GraphQL interfaces.
- Preferred experience includes large-scale SaaS systems using PostgreSQL or other SQL databases, PostGIS, TimescaleDB, Redis, Dragonfly, or similar technologies.
- Preferred experience integrating advertising networks, billing systems, or accounting systems.
- Preferred knowledge of Flux, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Terraform, cybersecurity best practices, and secure software design.
- Preferred collaborative development experience with pair programming, Agile standups and retrospectives, and peer code review.
- Aviation experience or passion, including being a private pilot or pursuing a private pilot license, is preferred.
