- Own Kubernetes cluster provisioning, upgrades, addons, and networking layers including Gateway API, service mesh, and zero-trust connectivity.
- Design disconnected deployment capabilities including registry and artifact mirroring, hermetic builds, no-egress artifact sourcing, bootstrapping without upstream access, and out-of-band promotion.
- Define Kubernetes packaging and configuration approaches using Helm, rendering, or custom controllers where appropriate.
- Build GitOps reconciliation, infrastructure-as-code orchestration, drift detection, OPA policy gates, and multi-environment promotion workflows.
- Own fleet-scale change management including module and chart versioning, staged rollouts, migrations, and deprecations.
- Operate production infrastructure through availability management, upgrades, capacity planning, observability, backup and recovery, security maintenance, and incident response.
- Partner with product and domain engineering teams to turn requirements into reusable self-service infrastructure primitives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of experience with production infrastructure or distributed systems.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and the ability to automate infrastructure in code.
- Experience with AWS or GCP, infrastructure-as-code, cloud networking, and Kubernetes infrastructure.
- Experience packaging and delivering software onto Kubernetes, including understanding tradeoffs among templating, rendering, and controller-based approaches.
- Preferred experience supporting classified, air-gapped, regulated, or otherwise constrained environments.
- Preferred experience with cloud landing zones, account and project vending, network architecture, DNS/IPAM, IAM foundations, workload identity, organizational policy, or quota management.
- Preferred experience with GitOps delivery and continuous reconciliation at scale, including drift management, promotion, and multi-environment rollouts.
- Preferred experience with Terraform or OpenTofu, reusable modules, self-service provisioning, and infrastructure platforms used by multiple internal engineering teams.
Benefits
- Flexible working arrangements including hybrid remote/in-office schedules.
- Comprehensive benefits including 401(k), dental, vision, and health and life insurance.
- Paid time off, equity options, professional development, and advancement opportunities.
