Base Salary
$156k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, iterate, maintain, debug, and optimize in-game UI systems such as widgets, menus, animations, and UI materials.
- Establish and document UI Blueprint architecture, workflows, optimization strategies, and scalable multi-platform practices.
- Translate UX designs into performant Unreal Engine implementations integrated with game systems.
- Evaluate and integrate tools and technologies that improve Experience Design across gameplay and interactive elements.
- Collaborate with UX designers, UI artists, gameplay engineers, backend developers, and audio teams.
- Build collaborative development practices across the Experience Design department.
- Mentor technical designers and cross-functional collaborators and support hiring and onboarding as the team scales.
Requirements
- Extensive experience building, debugging, and optimizing UI systems in UE4 or UE5 using Blueprints and UMG.
- Expert familiarity with UI materials, animation systems, and widget architecture.
- Ability to solve sophisticated technical and design problems and contribute to the technical roadmap for Experience Design features.
- Deep understanding of data flow, modularity, and performance in UI systems.
- Ability to independently lead initiatives, drive decisions, and own complex UI systems.
- Comfort working in fast-paced, evolving development pipelines and responding constructively to feedback.
- Prior experience shipping high-quality UI in a AAA game environment is highly desirable.
- Solid scripting and programming fundamentals such as C++ or C#.
- Experience contributing to or leading a UI technical design team.

- California base pay is listed as $155,600–$230,300 per year, with potential bonus and equity excluded from this benefits summary.
