Base Salary
$134k - $198k/yr
Responsibilities
- Provide technical direction for the UI of a AAA multiplayer project and leadership for the UI engineering team.
- Design and implement flexible, scalable, accessible, and high-performance UI systems using Unreal Engine frameworks.
- Manage asynchronous asset handling and integration with latent backend services such as inventory, matchmaking, and live telemetry.
- Optimize UI performance, memory budgets, GPU usage, and high-framerate experiences across display devices and consoles.
- Ensure UI implementations satisfy first-party PlayStation and Xbox certification requirements.
- Build globally deployable UI supporting text scaling, diverse fonts, complex string tables, and right-to-left languages.
- Implement accessibility features and data-driven, server-configurable UI layouts and live content.
- Mentor UI engineers, conduct code reviews, and improve UI/UX development workflows.
- Collaborate with design, production, engineering, and cross-disciplinary teams on new features.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional game programming experience.
- At least two shipped AAA titles in a Senior or Lead UI role.
- Deep knowledge of Unreal Engine UI systems, including CommonUI, UMG, Slate, and MVVM patterns.
- Expert C++ programming skills involving asynchronous data handling, memory management, and C++/Blueprint interoperability.
- Direct experience resolving UI-related console certification issues for PlayStation and/or Xbox.
- Practical understanding of the Unreal material pipeline for performant UI materials and shaders.
- Live-service or free-to-play experience with commerce UI, dynamic content delivery, and player conversion funnels is beneficial.
- Experience with multiplayer shooters, action RPGs, or competitive games is beneficial.
