Responsibilities
- Develop and scale a centralized React-based component library and design system.
- Translate design visions and Figma tokens into reusable, accessible, pixel-perfect web components.
- Partner with designers and support, collaborate with, and mentor engineers across 8+ product teams.
- Implement WCAG and ARIA accessibility standards across shared components.
- Write unit and visual regression tests and optimize UI rendering performance.
- Maintain Storybook documentation, usage guidelines, and component tooling.
- Integrate the design system with Verkada’s microfrontend architecture and contribute to frontend infrastructure as needed.
Requirements
- 4+ years of relevant industry experience in frontend web development with a strong UI/UX focus.
- Expertise with React, TypeScript, and modern styling solutions such as CSS-in-JS or CSS Modules.
- Proven experience building, maintaining, or significantly contributing to design systems, component libraries, or comprehensive UI frameworks.
- Deep experience with component-driven development and Storybook.
- Strong practical knowledge of ARIA, WCAG, and accessible component development.
- Experience collaborating directly with designers and understanding design tokens, typography, layout systems, and responsive design.
- Degree in Computer Science, HCI, or a similar technical or design field.
