Responsibilities
- Manage approximately equal volumes of Slack threads and support tickets related to build and release systems.
- Triage and independently troubleshoot build failures, broken pipelines, dependency issues, configuration errors, packaging problems, and artifact issues.
- Investigate Maven builds, Java compilation, Docker images, Artifactory repositories, Jenkins jobs, and Spinnaker pipelines.
- Provide structured incident guidance, coordinate multi-user incidents, and escalate issues only after thorough analysis.
- Create complete escalation tickets with logs, reproduction steps, build metadata, and relevant context.
- Maintain FAQs and internal documentation and turn recurring production issues into reusable problem-solution guides.
- Classify issue type, severity, and patterns while meeting support SLAs and managing multiple parallel interactions.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in Build/Release Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or software development.
- Proficiency with Git, CI/CD tooling, build and release engineering fundamentals, and Maven or Java build tooling.
- Understanding of the software supply chain lifecycle and experience supporting artifact repositories such as Artifactory or Nexus.
- Experience with Spinnaker or similar deployment orchestration tools.
- Strong troubleshooting, written communication, and spoken communication skills.
- Understanding of the SDLC and proficiency with Unix/Linux command-line environments.
- Scripting experience with Python or Bash.
- Knowledge of containers, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Preferred experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana and prior SRE experience.
- Candidates without CI/CD experience or with poor communication are disqualified.
