Responsibilities
- Build and maintain software systems and control planes for Google Cloud TPU infrastructure.
- Own end-to-end features involving cluster and fleet management, power and resource orchestration, host and runtime software, hardware qualification, or fleet health and observability.
- Write production code, build automated validation pipelines, and improve telemetry and tooling for large-scale TPU clusters.
- Design, implement, and test distributed-system software components, debug complex issues across distributed systems and hardware interfaces, and take features from design through production rollout.
- Collaborate with Google Cloud and data center infrastructure engineering teams to understand customer and operational requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Two years of software development experience in one or more programming languages, or one year with an advanced degree.
- Two years of experience with AI Platforms.
- One year of experience developing or launching products or technologies within software as a service or a related area.
- Experience developing or launching products or technologies within cloud infrastructure.
- Preferred: bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred: experience building and testing reliable backend or distributed systems in C++, Go, Python, or Java.
- Preferred: experience designing and executing testing strategies beyond unit tests and maintaining production service health.
- Preferred: experience with machine learning infrastructure and a strong foundation in software engineering, distributed systems, and production reliability.
