Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain core Python infrastructure libraries and frameworks used across engineering teams.
- Develop and support high-scale microservices and the shared foundations on which they run.
- Build reusable infrastructure capabilities for data access, messaging, observability, and service communication.
- Drive engineering standards for performance, observability, security, maintainability, and production readiness.
- Drive CI/CD processes, deployment automation, and cloud-native operational practices.
- Solve performance, concurrency, scalability, data, and production-runtime challenges across mission-critical services.
- Improve developer experience and engineering workflows through reusable components and infrastructure foundations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building large-scale backend systems in production environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python and modern Python service frameworks.
- Experience building and maintaining shared libraries, including API design, versioning, backward compatibility, and packaging.
- Deep understanding of Python concurrency models, including threading, multiprocessing, asyncio, and the GIL.
- Solid understanding of operating-system fundamentals including processes, memory, networking, and I/O.
- Hands-on experience with relational and non-relational data sources, including connection management and performance at scale.
- Proven experience designing and operating microservices and event-driven architectures.
- Strong experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Ability to drive technical solutions independently, collaborate across teams, and communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
