Responsibilities
- Build robust and scalable web-based applications.
- Create abstractions and contracts with separation of concerns for broader system scope.
- Solve high-level business and technical problems and perform high-level design with guidance.
- Make incremental architecture changes and assess their impact.
- Tune performance and improve large-scale distributed systems.
- Work with product managers to derive capability views from features and solutions and lead medium-sized project execution.
- Track project and feature impact with broader stakeholders and proactively iterate for improvement.
- Mentor junior engineers, foster team spirit, and break execution into phases to improve predictability.
Requirements
- Expert programming experience in at least one general-purpose language such as Java, C, or C++.
- Experience with multithreading and concurrency programming.
- Experience building highly scalable business applications involving complex business flows and large data volumes.
- Extensive object-oriented design skills, knowledge of design patterns, and ability to create intuitive module- and class-level interfaces.
- Knowledge of Test Driven Development.
- Understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, including technologies such as MySQL, HBase, Elasticsearch, and Aerospike.
- Full lifecycle development experience on a Linux platform.
- Experience working in startup environments with high ownership and commitment.
- BTech, MTech, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent.
- 5–7 years of experience writing code and solving problems at large scale.
