Responsibilities
- Design, build, maintain, and support enterprise-grade integrations and automations using Workato.
- Define reusable integration standards, patterns, versioning practices, and design guidelines.
- Standardize error handling using retry logic, dead letter queues, compensating transactions, alerting, and logging.
- Optimize Workato recipes for performance, cost, API consumption, and job usage.
- Design secure authentication patterns and manage secrets according to least-privilege principles.
- Design enterprise integration architecture and lead technical discussions with architects and business stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot complex cross-system production issues and drive them to resolution.
- Improve integration and data documentation, using tools such as Copilot where appropriate.
- Evaluate and incorporate Workato AI capabilities, including MCP, Workato Genies, and Agent Studio, into automation strategy.
- Mentor integration engineers and help expand the team’s technical capabilities.
Requirements
- At least five years of hands-on integration experience is required.
- Workato certification, such as Workato Automation Pro or higher, is required.
- Strong hands-on experience with REST APIs, JSON, XML, data transformation, reusable APIs, and integration patterns is required.
- Strong knowledge of authentication and security practices, including OAuth 2.0, JWT, API keys, Basic Auth, SAML, certificates, encryption, secret management, and least-privilege access, is required.
- Working knowledge of SQL, relational data models, event-driven architecture, error handling, and enterprise integration patterns is required.
- Experience or strong interest in Salesforce, NetSuite, GCP, UKG, Deel, Ramp, Jira, Freshservice, and Coupa is preferred.
- Familiarity with Workato’s MCP, Workato Genies, and Agent Studio is preferred.
- Experience with version control, CI/CD practices, monitoring, observability, data privacy, and compliance considerations is preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills are required.
