Base Salary
$188k - $275k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement distributed storage solutions for scaling data-intensive AI workloads.
- Develop exabyte-scale S3-compatible object storage and integrate dedicated storage clusters into customer environments.
- Use RDMA, GPU Direct Storage, NFS, FUSE, and related technologies to optimize storage performance and efficiency.
- Lead improvements to storage reliability, durability, security, and observability.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve storage systems in production with operations teams.
- Define metrics and dashboards and analyze telemetry to improve throughput, latency, and resilience.
- Collaborate with platform, product, and infrastructure teams to deliver storage capabilities across the stack.
- Share knowledge and mentor engineers on distributed, high-performance systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8–10+ years of experience in storage systems engineering or infrastructure.
- Strong production experience with object storage or distributed filesystems.
- Experience with storage protocols such as S3 or NFS and filesystems such as Ceph, DAOS, or similar.
- Proficiency in a systems programming language such as Go, C, or Rust.
- Proficiency using AI tools to augment software development.
- Familiarity with storage observability tools and telemetry pipelines such as ClickHouse, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Experience with cloud-native infrastructure, Kubernetes, and scalable system architectures.
