Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, debug, secure, deploy, integrate, and maintain embedded device software.
- Analyze software requirements and collaborate with users and product owners on modifications.
- Architect solutions and direct others while performing hands-on software development.
- Develop and maintain software, test environments, and software enhancements using embedded C/C++.
- Apply agile software development methods and keep current with technical developments.
- Work with RTOS-based systems, ARM architectures, and device interfaces including USB, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, UART, and timers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical/Electronics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology, or equivalent.
- 4–9 years of proven experience in embedded systems.
- Required experience developing embedded applications using C++ and C.
- Required experience with RTOS and ThreadX; FreeRTOS knowledge is preferred.
- Experience with ARM architecture and ARM microcontrollers.
- Experience developing software for the medical industry or another highly regulated industry.
- Preferred knowledge of IEC 62304, FDA guidance for medical device development, and other medical-device regulatory standards.
- Experience with real-time operating systems, agile software development, and preferably SAFe.
- Knowledge of safety concepts, FMEA, the V-model, and SDLC.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and influencing skills.
