Base Salary
$150k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, robust backend systems supporting AI agents and observability tools.
- Develop high-performance APIs connecting backend systems with frontend interfaces.
- Manage efficient data storage, retrieval, and processing using PostgreSQL, Redis, and related technologies.
- Integrate AI-driven insights into backend systems and own API authentication and authorization frameworks.
- Monitor, optimize, and scale backend services for high-volume, low-latency workloads.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers, AI researchers, infrastructure teams, and other functions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
Requirements
- 3+ years of software engineering experience focused on backend development and full-stack systems.
- Ability to lead in fast-paced startup environments with limited resources, shifting priorities, and minimal structure.
- Strong experience with Python and web frameworks such as FastAPI.
- Experience deploying applications on AWS and working with ECS or Kubernetes, Postgres, and S3.
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with Python-based ecosystems, agentic AI systems, observability, large-scale data-driven applications, or AI/LLM-powered products is preferred.
