Software Engineer- Java
GE VernovaResponsibilities
- Design, build, deliver, and maintain software applications and services.
- Analyze requirements, create documentation and procedures, and implement software throughout its lifecycle.
- Develop standards-compliant code and assess application performance using appropriate data structures and algorithms.
- Build enterprise applications and Spring Boot APIs using Java and React or Angular.
- Manage relational databases, implement Redis caching layers, and create web services and queries on existing tables.
- Containerize applications with Docker and manage deployments using Kubernetes and AWS EKS.
- Use testing frameworks and API documentation tools, and apply software delivery, scalability, refactoring, and security practices.
- Break down problems, estimate development work, complete assigned deliverables, and contribute ideas for innovation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a STEM major.
- For USA-based roles, a minimum of 3 years of experience is required.
- Strong proficiency in Java, with Java 11 or higher preferred, and React or Angular.
- In-depth experience building APIs and enterprise applications with Spring Boot.
- Experience managing relational databases with RDS and implementing high-performance Redis caching layers.
- Experience containerizing applications with Docker and managing Kubernetes deployments, including AWS EKS.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, JUnit, Mockito, and Swagger/OpenAPI.
- Working knowledge of Python is preferred.
- Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ is preferred.
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts and Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch, including production ML model integration, is preferred.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle practices, performance, testing, scalability, documentation, and security.
