Responsibilities
- Design and maintain relational or structured data models for hierarchical manufacturing data.
- Build data ingestion, transformation, integrity-checking, alerting, and recovery processes.
- Develop backend services, APIs, business logic, reusable components, and audit-trail functionality.
- Build and integrate user-facing applications with backend services, connectors, and data sources.
- Implement data quality, resilience, monitoring, performance, availability, and data-freshness controls.
- Produce QA summaries, technical documentation, diagrams, operational guides, runbooks, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Collaborate with manufacturing users and cross-functional stakeholders to refine requirements, interfaces, and workflows.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining production, multi-user, web-based applications for internal stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience with at least one general-purpose programming language such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C#.
- Strong SQL skills and practical relational database design or maintenance experience.
- Experience developing APIs or backend services, including authentication, authorization, data access, and performance considerations.
- Production experience integrating external systems, databases, or APIs.
- Working knowledge of operational data concepts such as data contracts, lineage, quality checks, scheduling, and monitoring.
- UI/UX fundamentals for creating intuitive, task-oriented interfaces and iterating with users.
- Experience with testing, Git, continuous integration and delivery, and clean, modular, documented code.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, manage ambiguity, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Preferred: exposure to manufacturing or engineering systems, front-end or UI-centric development, Power BI, data governance, metadata management, workflow automation, Tulip, Power Apps, Mendix, cloud, or containerization.
